| In Frame #8 Kuehne still has kept his shoulders and upper body behind his front leg. Crucial!! The Power Core (hips, belt line, and abdominal muscles) provides the impetus to sling shot the upper body through the shot. Remember turning the Power Core is the move that initiates the downswing to supply maximum power and keeps the club in a position where it can reliably hit the ball down your line to the target. This move is contrary to normal instincts and must be learned. Some of my students will key on the hips, some on the belly button, and some on the belt. Experiment a bit to see which key within the Power Core area works best for you. If you have any questions or comments about this article please let me know. |
